We have built in two ways of managing your contact data:
You can steer the app's behavior on 'Customer Data Management' by setting the Privacy Setup for Contacts in the device settings.
1. Direct access to your address book
If you have granted access to your address book (device privacy settings for Contacts) then all contact related activities are managed in directly with your address book. It's like working in the Contact.app directly. The big advantage is that an error prone syncing is no longer necessary, the UI and its handling is well known to you. All changes made outside of CRM Business Notes within the contact app will be transferred automatically to your local customer database in CRM Business Notes. Therefore we recommend this way.
Be sure: Your data security is our concern - we do not copy or sell your contact data (as, unfortunately many 'free' apps does).
2. Managing contacts locally (w/o address book access)
But for the case that you decided not to grant address book access you can manage your contacts also with the below displayed screens and functions. But be aware: there's no automatic syncing with your address book.
The local Customer Data Management comes with following customer related functionality:
Create & Edit contact information
The unique identification of customers happens by the combination of FIRSTNAME,LASTNAME and the COMPANYNAME. Therefore this information is mandatory.
On contact creation an artificial company name out of <LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME>. will be created. This 'artifical' company name can be changed at any time. All other entry fields are not mandatory.
Bulk Import from Textfile:
From version 2.3.4 on we provide an additional way to import contact data - the bulk import from a CSV-Textfile. Bulk import of contact data from CSV-Textfil
Deletion of contacts
Removing of single contacts will also remove all corresponding documents. Since a customer can have a very complex document structure CRM Business Notes offers within the 'Filemanager-Function' an archive operation of all relevant documents - for a later Undo-Operation.

Within Customer Details you can edit additional information for your contact, which may help you to describe the customer relationship.
Geolocation and Routing
Having the customer address information (TOWN & STREET at least) for Visiting/Shipping/Central CRM Business Notes will show this location on the map within a region of 8 km.
Simply press the respective Address-Button. If your current position is within this area your position will show as a blue bubble.
Clicking the 'World'-symbol in the left hand menu in the map - leads you to maps route planning app. The current geolocation coordinates will be transferred.
