Regardless which kind of mathematical calculation needs to be done - the scientific calculator 'B1' supports all necessary calculations for science and education.
Scientific Calculator B1 is a powerful, but easy and intuitive to use scientific calculator for iPad/iPhone/iPod touch.
The main design pattern is the continuous workflow from 'end-to-end'. Unlike many other calculator, the B1 ensures the transparent and well documented math operations which can be are easily reuse in later operations - a necessary feature for science, school and office.
Feature in 2.9:
Formula Injection - Werner Schmidtberg (Chief Developer, MTbrain): “The typical scientific way of solving complex questions or calculation is to cut them in smaller, more transparent and less error prone pieces. That’s exactly the model behind formula injection, which we have developed for this version. It is part of the educational design pattern of the Scientific Calculator B1.It lets the user break operations into independent, logical pieces which can be injected later into a running calculation. Utilizing bracket keys and bracket function is no more longer necessary.”
.... and how to use: following our guiding principle 'make it easy to use' we make all the heavy loading into background threads. The only thing you have to do is: save a logical part of your calculation in the formula store. (by SAVE-Display button on iPad, by SAVE symbol in lower toolbar on iPhone).
For later use go into the Formula Store and select the formula. A nice animation and system messages will inform about the succesful injection. That's it. Proceed with your calculation.
General calculator features:
This calculator itself uses the arithmetic Infix-Notation system which has been developed by MTbrain from the ground up. A wide range of mathematical operations and of common conversion functions are supported, including logarithms, trigonometric functions, roots and arbitratry exponents.
During the whole operation the calculator displays the complete calculation path for each single calculation step. Operators and Brackets are checked and set automatically. The final results and formulas can be persist in the flash memory and as a full record in the internal database as well. The records can be commented for later documentation and can be reused in every detail to continue later operations. The Database records can be sent via email in normal text format for the universal use in other documents.
Especially for scientist and students a glossary with over 600 specific math terms has been setup. It contains WIKIPEDIA links to areas like 'general mathematics', 'algebra', 'mathematical analysis' and 'numerics' to ensure deep explanation. The content of this glossary is bilingual (english & german).
What makes the difference of Baldr compared to many other calculators......
Topic: right implementation of arithmetic rules
i.e. Rules for exponentional or power Calculation ! We don't want to blame our competitors, but many calculators in AppStore calculates the following wrong: 5*4+5^2^3 = 390645 (! wrong). Utilizing the correct rules for exponential calculations, as MTbrain' Scientific Calculator do will results in 15645.
Topic: data persistence
3 programmable memory keys and a 'switch of resistent' file systems ensures all your data and calculations even is the device is fully switched off.
Topic: end-to-end operations
During the whole calculation procedure the path forward will be presented with its mathematical correct formula in a separate output field. By this - especially more complexe calculations remains transparent. The formulas saved in the internal database can be fully reactivated for later use.
Topic : the mathematical glossary
For educational purposes a mathematical glossary has been incorporated into Baldr1. This glossary is bilingual (english and german) and contains more than 600 terms of the areas 'general mathematics', 'algebra', 'mathematical analysis' and 'numerics'. By clicking one of these terms you will get direct Web access to detailed explanation of the free encyclopedia - Wikipedia directly to your iPhone/iPad.
The Scientific Calculator B1 (professional) is a universal application, means it's running on the iPhone 4 and on the iPad as well and it supports especially the new functions of Apple's iPad. (the corresponding Lite version is iPad only.)
All versions has been testet extensivly on the devices iPhone 4, iPad, iPad2 with iOS 4.3/5.0/5.1 without any issues.
The program functions and the glossary as well are bilingual - englisch and german. You can switch between them by using the respective settings of your device.
